7 Ways to Keep Your Wedding Guest List Short

How to keep wedding guest list short

It has become a necessity to have a short list of guests for hosting a wedding without breaking the bank. Here are the 7 ways in which you can keep your wedding invitation list as small as possible-

Give Specific Numbers to Parents

Before your Parents start inviting all the friends and family members, let them know the maximum number of people they can invite. Separate the number decided for parents 50-50 for both bride and groom. This way you can keep a check on the total number of guests being invited.

Invite only the People you are in Touch with

Make sure to invite your current friends. Do the one year test, If you haven't talked with a person for more than a year, then you can skip them from your invitation list. Your Facebook friends do not qualify for the invitation.

Have a Destination Wedding

Having a wedding far away from where you live will make sure that only the people who really care about your wedding will attend it. This is a great way to keep your wedding guest list short. Also, remember these fun activities you can do on your wedding day.

Divide your Guests into Groups

Create separate lists for all the people you want to invite to your wedding including family members, colleagues, friends, extended family members, etc. Assign priorities to the different groups and people. Add higher priority members to your invitation list first and see if you can invite more.

Do not Invite Children

You need to pay for children just like adults (per person) and inviting children will quickly increase your numbers.

Host a Post-Wedding Party

If you invited too few people or just the family members on your wedding, then you can invite the people you missed out to a less expensive post-wedding party.

Do not allow Guests along with the People Invited

Let your guests know that you are specifically inviting only the close friends and family members. They will appreciate this as they will feel special for receiving your invitation.
